Senior Design Quality Assurance Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Design Quality Assurance Engineer role is onsite in Champlin, MN, with compensation of $110,000–$120,000 per year. The role owns design quality for Forgent’s Solutions product lines and standardizes design quality practices across Solutions sites. The engineer leads corrective action and engineering change governance, identifies recurring design defects, and verifies that fixes are embedded in standards and systems. By tracking quality metrics and coordinating with engineering managers, the role helps prevent design issues from reaching manufacturing and supports consistent quality across sites.

What you'll do

• Run the Corrective Action Review Board for design issues
• perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions
• track actions, escalate delays, verify effectiveness, and close actions when fixes are embedded in standards or tools
• manage engineering change control intake through closure
• run the Change Control Board and document dispositions
• confirm approved changes are reflected in drawings, schematics, models, BOMs, and PLM/PDM systems
• participate in design reviews and monitor review effectiveness
• own design quality metrics and Pareto analysis
• improve design standards, checklists, and training
• report change and corrective-action performance
• partner with Engineering Managers
• standardize practices across Hanover, Champlin, and Dayton
• verify UL listing and labeling issues are addressed at the design stage.
