Program Assistant

The Program Assistant position is onsite in New York, NY, primarily at the front desk of the Mark Morris Dance Center. Compensation is $20 per hour. The Dance Center serves more than 5,000 weekly visitors and is a hub for dance and music education in Brooklyn. The assistant provides visitor service and program support, helping guests access classes, rentals, and other Dance Center offerings. The role also supports registration, check-in, facility coordination, and safety procedures so programs can serve the community effectively.

What you'll do

• Greet and direct visitors
• answer phone calls and electronic inquiries
• provide information about programs, rentals, and the Dance Group
• communicate and uphold center policies
• respond to basic Zendesk inquiries and escalate complex issues
• maintain knowledge of MindBody, Active, Zendesk, and EMS systems
• assist with Children & Teens registration
• manage check-in and class counts
• relay studio requests to Facilities
• coordinate with security during emergencies
• serve as a designated Fire Guard.

Why this role

Part-time schedule of 20–25 hours per week across four shifts, with Saturday or Sunday availability required. Fireguard (F-03), First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications are required or must be attained as specified.
