Aquatics Swim Instructor

The Aquatics Swim Instructor role is onsite in Andover, MA, with pay of $23–$26 per hour for instruction and $27–$30 per hour for private lessons. The position works under the Aquatics Director at Phillips Academy’s Aquatics Center, serving Academy and community aquatic programs. The instructor provides safe, engaging swim instruction to participants of all ages and skill levels, teaching water safety and stroke development while building confidence in and around the water. The role also supports participant safety, communication, and the orderly operation of lessons.

What you'll do

• Plan and deliver structured swim lessons aligned with program standards
• teach water safety and stroke technique
• adapt lessons to participant needs and skill levels
• maintain an inclusive learning environment
• enforce pool rules and facility policies
• respond to emergencies in accordance with training
• communicate with participants, parents, and staff
• provide progress feedback when appropriate
• set up and break down equipment
• keep instructional areas organized
• complete attendance and required documentation.
