The Lifeguard role is an onsite, part-time position in Madison, NJ, paying $15.49–$18.00 per hour, with an additional $2.50 per hour offered from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The Madison Area YMCA’s aquatics team works to provide a safe and enjoyable swimming environment. The lifeguard maintains safe conditions in and around the pool, responds with knowledge of water hazards and lifesaving techniques, and attends in-service meetings. The role helps protect swimmers while supporting a positive experience for members and guests.

What you'll do

• Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the deck, and in surrounding areas
• swim proficiently and with endurance
• demonstrate knowledge of water hazards, pool safety, lifesaving techniques, and first aid
• attend in-service meetings
• follow abuse-prevention policies and mandated reporting requirements.
