Certified Veterinary Technician - Oncology. This is an onsite position in Middletown, CT, with a starting pay of $25.00-$32.00/hour plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Pieper Veterinary is a VECCS Level I Facility. This role exists to provide compassionate care and guidance to patients undergoing advanced treatments and therapies in the Oncology Department, improving their quality of life.

What you'll do

• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia, and patient restraint
• Support Oncology and chemotherapy treatments
• Ongoing client communication
• Use of CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is a plus.

Education

Associate's Degree

Experience

Associate's in veterinary technology is a plus. CVT license required for sign-on bonus. Strong knowledge with Anesthesia and monitoring. Phlebotomy. Knowledge of procedures for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests. Knowledge of use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment. Knowledge of sterilization techniques. Knowledge of instruments, materials, and standardized procedures for treatments. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language. Ability to work independently and accept direction.
