Commercial Communications Technician

The Commercial Communications Technician role is onsite in Montgomery, AL; compensation is not specified. LEK Technology Group designs, installs, and supports low-voltage technology and network infrastructure for commercial, education, healthcare, government, industrial, and entertainment environments. The technician installs, tests, and maintains communications and network infrastructure so customer projects are completed safely, cleanly, to manufacturer specifications, and on schedule. Working under a project manager or lead technician, the role supports cabling, fiber, wireless hardware, and troubleshooting needs.

What you'll do

• Support onsite installation activities
• install structured copper cabling and single-mode and multimode fiber
• build out telecom rooms and data centers
• install wireless access points and network hardware
• pull, dress, label, terminate, test, and certify cabling
• document test results
• assist with troubleshooting connectivity, PoE, and cabling issues
• read floor plans and cable schedules
• maintain jobsite safety and compliance.

Why this role
