Transportation Manager

What you'll do

• Maintain the transportation staffing plan and review employment forms
• implement transportation policies and procedures
• supervise transportation supervisors and indirectly supervise officers
• approve officer schedules and staff performance actions
• facilitate training and refresher defensive-driving courses
• manage the transportation budget and vehicle contractors
• oversee vehicle maintenance, service records, and inspections
• coordinate roadside assistance
• ensure accident reports and investigations are completed
• participate in safety reviews
• ensure regulatory compliance and maintain transportation-related regulatory knowledge.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of detainee or inmate transportation experience with leadership or supervisory experience, and completion of approved corrections, law enforcement, or military training. A Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement, 80 hours of certified driver training, and CPR, First Aid, Defensive Tactics, and Firearms certifications must be obtained or maintained as specified.
