What you'll do

• Promote and maintain quality patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization on assigned shift.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers.
• Monitor bed availability and implement surge capacity measures as needed.
• Supervise the nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Act as the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.
• Assess all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift.
• Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors.
• Work under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinate related activities.
• Round and maintain open communication with all staff.
• Requires sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
