Mechanical Estimator – HVAC Pipe and Sheet Metal

The Mechanical Estimator – HVAC Pipe and Sheet Metal role is onsite in Livermore or San Leandro, CA. Compensation is $90,000–$130,000 per year. The position supports Murray Company’s Northern California division in pursuing HVAC pipe and sheet metal projects. The estimator evaluates bid opportunities, reviews project documents, develops estimates, and coordinates with general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades. The work helps the division pursue suitable projects with accurate scopes, budgets, and profitability expectations.

What you'll do

• Contact general contractors’ pre-construction departments to identify opportunities
• evaluate projects for fit and potential success
• review plans, P&IDs, specifications, and contracts
• use computer-based takeoff and estimating systems
• coordinate drawings, scopes, and points of contact with other trades
• prepare RFIs
• solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing
• prepare recaps, general conditions, schedules, and project letters
• prepare job reports for bid review
• assist with project presentations, negotiation, and closing
• participate in kickoff meetings and daily staff meetings
• assist with labor productivity tracking and project recovery planning.
