The Retail Cafe Shift Lead role is onsite in Sonoma, CA, at $19.75 per hour. Equator Coffees is a California coffee roaster and cafe operator committed to sustainable and fair-trade coffee practices. The Shift Lead helps the store manager lead baristas and deliver a consistent, welcoming customer experience. The role supports beverage quality, team coaching and deployment, store cleanliness and food safety, inventory tasks, and cafe opening and closing; it also helps make operational decisions when the manager is absent.

What you'll do

• Share specialty coffee knowledge with customers and employees
• lead preparation and service of handcrafted beverages
• coach team members on drink quality
• plan staff deployment
• help clean, stock, and organize the store
• uphold cleanliness and food safety
• communicate concerns and customer feedback to the Store Manager
• assist with inventory control
• support sales and profit goals
• open and close the cafe
• and problem-solve in the manager’s absence. Retail or customer service experience is required
• coffee experience is preferred. High school diploma or GED and a current state-issued Food Handler Card are required.
