The Pediatrician role is onsite, with coverage at BHC Oceana, TPC Virginia Beach, TPC Chesapeake, and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Compensation is $195,000–$235,000. The position supports Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and designated branch health clinics. The pediatrician provides outpatient and applicable inpatient care to newborns, children, adolescents, and young adults. The role includes preventive services, diagnosis and treatment, clinical oversight, documentation, emergency response, and participation in quality improvement and healthcare personnel education.

What you'll do

• Provide pediatric services in outpatient and applicable inpatient settings
• conduct routine, acute, and chronic evaluations
• diagnose and manage illnesses
• provide preventive care, immunizations, screenings, developmental assessments, and examinations
• evaluate developmental, emotional, and safety concerns and refer as appropriate
• perform or oversee procedures within scope and protocols
• provide clinical direction and instruction
• participate in peer review and quality improvement
• maintain medical records
• respond to emergencies
• participate in Family Advocacy Program activities as directed
• attend meetings and required training.
