Project Accountant

Job overview

The Project Accountant role is hybrid in Silver Spring, MD, with three days in the office and two days remotely. The stated salary range is $74,000–$84,000 per year. The role supports Toole Design’s Finance team and its roadway and active transportation projects. The accountant manages project finances from setup through closeout, helping maintain accurate accounts, billing, budgets, forecasts, and records. This work gives project managers and leadership financial information and support for project performance, collections, and audit readiness.

What you'll do

• Prepare invoices
• monitor project performance by reviewing budgets and forecasting potential overruns
• create and maintain project accounts in the ERP system
• manage unbilled work
• support project setup and closeout
• assist project managers with billing issues and collections
• reconcile receipts and budgets
• communicate with project managers, clients, and subconsultants
• compile information for auditors
• contribute to staff training.
