The Building Engineer – DC 3rd Class role is onsite in Washington, DC, with compensation of $48–$50 per hour. The engineer operates and maintains building systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. Monitoring equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating engineering staff help keep building infrastructure and life-safety systems functioning properly.

What you'll do

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, steam, chilled water, domestic water, electrical, refrigeration, and energy management systems
• use building automation systems
• conduct inspections and operational rounds
• maintain emergency power, water treatment, elevators, and other critical infrastructure
• support engineering and maintenance staff
• respond to service calls and environmental concerns
• promote safety and quality.
