The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is onsite in residential homes and community settings in Cheshire, Prospect, and North Haven, CT. Pay starts at $19.55 per hour, with potential to reach $20.55 per hour after 90 days. GIL Foundation provides care and services for Connecticut residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism. The DSP supports adults with disabilities to lead self-directed lives and participate in their communities. The role provides daily living assistance, personal care, safety monitoring, and individualized support while promoting personal choice and expression.

What you'll do

• Provide consistent care in individuals’ homes
• assist with bathing, dressing, hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, and daily living activities
• support recreational and educational activities
• follow care plans, administer medications, and attend medical visits
• provide crisis management and intervention when needed
• support meal planning and dietary guidelines
• assist with shopping and money management
• provide safe community transportation
• complete documentation and required training
• safeguard individuals’ rights, privacy, and property.
