The Seafood Processing Room Manager role is onsite in Elkridge, MD. The stated salary range is $85,000–$120,000 per year. J.J. McDonnell supplies seafood products and services to customers across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the manager oversees processing and fulfillment across two shifts and leads a team of 60–75 employees. The role drives efficient production, product quality, safety, and continuous improvement to support customer satisfaction and company growth.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily production, labor management, and KPI performance across processing shifts
• forecast production needs using sales and historical data
• manage yield performance and cost-to-build guides
• improve labor efficiency, process flow, and equipment utilization
• develop and monitor SOPs
• coordinate with purchasing, QA/QC, sales, finance, and HR
• lead hiring, evaluations, training, and team huddles
• maintain facility compliance with HACCP, FDA, USDA, and BRC standards
• ensure QA/QC inspections before shipment
• monitor employee hours and breaks
• support operations during staffing shortages.
