What you'll do

• Under direct supervision, completes assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems per contract obligations.
• Assists experienced personnel with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems.
• Requires understanding of core and third party fire products, software and systems electrical technology.
• Assists in performing required commissioning documentation.
• Provide accurate information for as-builts documentation.
• Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
• Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
• Maintains appropriate local and National Fire Industry Certifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
• Continuous proactive customer interactions including an in-depth understanding of customer(s) needs wants and systems currently in place.
• Completes paperwork and on site documentation as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Two or more years' experience with commercial fire alarm or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and cooperative working relationships.
• Basic computer skills.
• The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance to support this site required.
