What you'll do
- Under direct supervision, completes assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems per contract obligations.
- Assists experienced personnel with solutions to systems problems, either troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems.
- Requires understanding of core and third party fire products, software and systems electrical technology.
- Assists in performing required commissioning documentation.
- Provide accurate information for as-builts documentation.
- Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
- Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
- Maintains appropriate local and National Fire Industry Certifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
- Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
- Continuous proactive customer interactions including an in-depth understanding of customer(s) needs wants and systems currently in place.
- Completes paperwork and on site documentation as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Two or more years' experience with commercial fire alarm or fire suppression systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and cooperative working relationships.
- Basic computer skills.
- The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearance to support this site required.
