The Staff Polymer Chemist role is onsite in Alameda, CA; compensation is $145,000–$170,000 per year. Anthro Energy is developing polymer electrolyte technology for safer, higher-energy-density lithium-ion batteries and new battery form factors. The chemist develops polymer chemistries, formulations, and polymerization processes through hands-on research and proof-of-concept experiments. The work connects polymer science with battery development and helps translate research into manufacturable commercial applications.

What you'll do

• Develop polymer synthesis processes and design experiments
• translate project goals into experimental plans and communicate results
• work with vendors, contract manufacturers, and collaborators on materials and scale-up
• develop safe lab processes and document them through SOPs
• contribute to procurement of bench-scale equipment
• collaborate with cell development, electrolyte, manufacturing, and technician teams to move processes from R&D toward production.

Why this role

Requires a PhD in polymer science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science with three or more years of industry R&D experience, or an MS with five or more years of relevant industry experience. Electrolyte, battery, or electrochemical experience is preferred.
