Asphalt Laborer

The Asphalt Laborer role is onsite in Stamford, CT, with pay of $20 to $25 per hour. The laborer supports paving and maintenance crews by preparing job sites, handling asphalt and compaction tasks, assisting equipment operators, and completing patching and cleanup. The position also helps maintain tools and vehicles and follows work-zone safety requirements.

What you'll do

• Prepare job sites by grading, leveling, and cleaning surfaces
• rake, shovel, and spread hot asphalt
• support paving machine and roller operators
• compact asphalt with hand tampers or small equipment
• perform patching, crack sealing, and minor repairs
• direct traffic when required
• maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles
• follow safety rules and wear required PPE
• clean sites after projects.

Why this role

Seasonal position from April through December. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some Saturdays; high school diploma or GED and prior construction or paving experience are preferred but not required.
