Senior Intellectual Property Assistant, Patent Prosecution

The Senior Intellectual Property Assistant, Patent Prosecution role is hybrid, with an in-office requirement of three days per week, in one of Procopio’s California offices: San Diego, Del Mar Heights, Irvine, or Palo Alto. Pay is $80,000–$125,000 per year. The role supports Procopio’s intellectual property attorneys and clients. The assistant manages U.S. patent prosecution filings and related docketing and coordination. This work helps attorneys and clients advance patent matters accurately and on schedule, including international filings and communications with intellectual property offices and foreign associates.

What you'll do

• Prepare and file U.S. patent applications, Information Disclosure Statements, formal documents, office action responses, and issue fees
• prepare PCT filings as applicable
• coordinate international filings with foreign associates
• review and report communications from the USPTO, WIPO, and foreign IP offices
• manage deadlines and docket reports
• maintain electronic records
• provide teammate coverage
• assist with billing and time entry
• meet the 1,300-hour annual billable requirement.
