The Animal Diet Technician role is onsite in Nashville, TN; pay is $16.10 per hour. Nashville Zoo’s mission is to inspire understanding and discovery of the natural world through conservation, innovation, and leadership. The technician prepares diets for animals in the zoo’s collection and outreach programs, following diet menu specifications. Accurate preparation, sanitation, supply handling, and communication with coworkers and supervisors support animal care and the zoo’s daily operations.

What you'll do

• Prepare animal diets according to menu specifications
• drive a zoo vehicle to retrieve or deliver supplies and materials
• unload supplies using a pallet jack when needed
• clean and sanitize food preparation areas and storage spaces
• operate grinders, blenders, food processors, dishwashers, scales, and pallet jacks
• communicate with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, veterinarians, and visitors as needed
• maintain attendance and professional conduct.
