The Aircraft Mechanic I — General Back Shop/Fuel Cell Shop — Day Shift role is onsite in Elizabeth City, NC, and is full-time. Pay is $44.45 per hour. The position provides aircraft maintenance services to the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center for the Short-Range Recovery Division’s MH-65 aircraft program. The mechanic supports aircraft depot maintenance and operational readiness by disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and assembling aircraft components and systems. The work also includes flight-line maintenance, functional testing and troubleshooting, following work orders and technical guidance, and maintaining a safe work area.

What you'll do

• Support the assembly phase of the program depot maintenance process, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, evaluation, buildup, and assembly of components
• repair and maintain mechanical, fuel, and hydraulic systems
• perform flight-line maintenance, functional testing, troubleshooting, and repairs
• follow work orders
• review technical guides and report errors
• demonstrate techniques and safety practices
• maintain a clean and safe work area
• clean and maintain tools and equipment
• perform other aircraft maintenance duties as required.
