Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is onsite in Winston-Salem, NC, with pay of $10–$16 per hour. Somerset Court at University Place supports seniors in a safe, comfortable community where they can thrive. The PCA provides direct resident care and assistance with activities of daily living, while promoting dignity, independence, and a safe, nurturing environment. The role also supports resident engagement and communicates health changes to the nursing team.

What you'll do

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meals, feeding, hydration, hygiene, and comfort
• observe and report changes in health, behavior, or physical condition
• provide medication reminders and monitor for adverse reactions
• encourage participation in activities
• maintain safe, clean living areas
• follow infection-control and safety procedures and respond to emergencies according to established procedures.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED, state-approved PCA/CNA/caregiver training, one year of relevant experience, and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred. The role requires the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
