The AWS Cloud Systems Engineer role is hybrid, with onsite work as needed near Hanscom AFB in the North Lexington, MA area. Compensation is not specified. The engineer designs, builds, secures, and sustains scalable cloud-native solutions, applying cloud operations, automation, and DevSecOps practices across development, deployment, security, production, and maintenance to support reliable shared services.

What you'll do

• Perform AWS cloud operations, sustainment, and maintenance
• use DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, and automation
• optimize application performance and reliability
• design and sustain secure cloud architectures and networks using zero-trust and defense-in-depth principles
• maintain compliance with standards and regulations
• implement cloud networking security controls and STIG requirements
• implement identity and access management and security monitoring
• support migration methodologies
• use CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools including Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole
• containerize applications
• support shared services
• configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical systems
• maintain SQL and NoSQL databases
• document technical and operational processes
• collaborate across teams.
