The Accountant role is onsite in Buffalo, NY, with a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. Compensation is $75,000–$85,000 per year. The role reports to the Controller and supports Buffalo Biodiesel’s accounting operations; the company collects and recycles used cooking oil to produce biodiesel. The accountant maintains accurate financial records, supports timely close and reporting, and helps ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The role also contributes to process and internal-control improvements as the company grows.

What you'll do

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• prepare journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations
• maintain the general ledger
• reconcile bank, credit card, and financing accounts
• assist with inventory, fixed asset, and lease accounting
• prepare schedules for reporting, tax filings, and audits
• maintain accurate documentation
• identify process and control improvements.
