Security Operations Engineer

Job overview

The Security Operations Engineer role is hybrid, with three days per week in the office, and can be based in Kansas City, MO; St. Louis, MO; Denver, CO; or Dallas, TX. Compensation is not specified. CRB develops solutions for manufacturers in the life sciences and food and beverage industries; this role reports to the Director of Security Engineering. The engineer strengthens the security, privacy, and operational resilience of CRB’s technology environment. By improving controls, managing security risks, supporting compliance, and coordinating response and testing activities, the role helps protect enterprise systems while enabling business productivity.

What you'll do

• Coordinate with managed security service providers on security operations, vulnerability assessments, remediation, and service delivery
• maintain the security and privacy risk register
• develop security policies, procedures, runbooks, and incident documentation
• coordinate audit readiness and evidence collection
• administer security controls across cloud, SaaS, and enterprise systems
• manage identity and access processes
• support endpoint security, patching, device compliance, and asset inventories
• automate workflows
• support monitoring and incident response
• conduct authorized vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, attack-path analysis, and red-team exercises
• document findings and validate remediation
• support privacy, compliance, vendor risk, and governance activities.
