The Operations Team Lead – Overnight Shift role is onsite in Alexandria, VA, and pays $45–$47 per hour. The overnight schedule is 9:30 p.m.–8:00 a.m. The role supports plant operations for the City of Alexandria VA Sanitation Authority. The Team Lead supervises skilled staff while also performing operations technician work. By monitoring treatment processes, maintaining compliance records, addressing operational issues, and coordinating staff work, the role supports safe and effective plant performance.

What you'll do

• Lead and coach Operations staff
• enforce policies and procedures
• monitor work quality and staff accountability
• assist with staff training, scheduling, interviews, and onboarding
• operate and monitor liquid and solids processes
• conduct routine quality-control testing and review performance data
• adjust processes and address operational issues
• maintain operational and compliance records
• coordinate routine maintenance and work orders
• monitor chemical and biosolids inventories and supervise contractors during offloading and transfer.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, qualifying AlexRenew experience and Operations Technician II or higher status, an active Virginia Wastewater Works Class 1 or 2 license, and a valid driver’s license. ABC Professional Operator Class II certification is required or must be obtained within one year.
