Substance Use Disorder Counselor

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor role is onsite in Hagerstown, MD, with compensation of $30–$33 per hour. The GEO Group provides correctional and community reentry services, including evidence-based rehabilitation. The counselor assesses participants entering the corrections department, determines an ASAM-based level of care, and provides treatment and planning aligned with assessment results.

What you'll do

• Administer, score, and interpret screening and assessment tools
• conduct intake and back-end screenings and post-testing
• interview participants and review corrections files
• prepare written assessment reports
• create and maintain individual treatment plans
• conduct individual and group counseling
• maintain clinical charts under Maryland regulations
• complete discharge and aftercare plans
• participate in team staffing.
