Structural Designer – Layout is an onsite role in West Allis, WI. Compensation is not specified. Steele Solutions designs and manufactures steel infrastructure platforms, mezzanines, and custom chute systems for distribution, fulfillment, sortation, and secure storage systems. The designer produces and revises project drawings that translate engineering specifications into usable 2D and 3D layouts. The work supports design staff, project engineers, and project management by helping projects progress with accurate drawings and by identifying potential design issues.

What you'll do

• Create 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD and Tekla
• revise drawings to incorporate engineering specifications
• prepare and review project drawings with the engineering team
• read and interpret building drawings
• collaborate with project engineers and other departments
• communicate potential design problems to design staff and project managers.
