CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift

The CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift role is full-time and onsite in Streator, IL. Pay starts at $31.32 per hour. Vactor manufactures municipal sewer-cleaning vacuum trucks and industrial vacuum loaders as part of Federal Signal Corporation’s environmental solutions business. The machinist operates and sets up CNC and conventional machines, creates or revises CNC programs, and inspects machined work to specifications. The role supports production quality by maintaining equipment, troubleshooting basic issues, and producing parts safely and accurately.

What you'll do

• Operate CNC machining centers, including mills and lathes
• make and revise CNC programs
• set up machines
• learn drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring, and turning processes
• inspect work with precision measuring equipment
• maintain equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
• run deburring equipment
• use fixtures to produce parts
• maintain a clean, safe workplace
• work overtime when needed.
