The CNC Mill Machinist (Setup & Operator) — 2nd Shift role is onsite in Tempe, AZ, with compensation of $25–$40 per hour and a 20% second-shift differential. The role supports CMI Group’s Systems 3 division, which makes flight-critical and safety-critical aerospace and defense components. This machinist sets up and operates CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet engineering specifications and close tolerances. The work contributes to quality and production goals through program and tooling adjustments, inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines
• interpret blueprints, GD&T, routings, work instructions, and customer specifications
• load, verify, and edit CNC programs
• adjust tooling and offsets
• verify first pieces and perform in-process and final inspections with precision measuring instruments
• monitor and troubleshoot machining processes
• coordinate with programmers, engineers, and quality personnel
• perform routine maintenance and follow safety, AS9100, and applicable ITAR requirements.

Why this role

Requires at least two years of CNC mill setup and operation experience. U.S. citizenship or valid permanent resident status is required. Second shift runs 2:15 p.m.–12:45 a.m., Monday–Thursday.
