Lead PCB Designer

The Lead PCB Designer role is onsite in Rochester, NY; compensation is not specified. Relocation assistance is provided. The designer supports a client developing radio communication equipment for military and first-responder use. The role creates and validates complex printed circuit board layouts and helps resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues. It also establishes design practices, evaluates design software, and mentors less experienced designers to support reliable product development.

What you'll do

• Use Mentor PADS to incorporate schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs into new and revised HDI PCB designs
• collaborate to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues
• create PCB stackups and model controlled impedance
• develop complex layouts across RF, digital, analog, power supply, and mixed technologies
• conduct peer reviews
• maintain design guidelines
• assess and implement design software
• document best practices, templates, checklists, and procedures
• mentor designers
• respond to supplier technical questions.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of relevant PCB design experience, a graduate degree and 7 years, or 13 years in lieu of a degree; eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance is required.
