Direct Support Personnel — Residential Program

The Direct Support Personnel role is onsite in Charleston, IL, and pays $18.75 per hour at the start, increasing to $19 per hour after initial DSP training and $19.25 per hour after all training, including medication administration, is complete. CCAR Industries’ Residential Program supports the agency’s mission to empower lives through individual care and inclusive community support. The role provides daily living assistance and individualized support to people with developmental disabilities, helping them make informed choices and maintain health, safety, and dignity. It also supports household routines, medication administration, transportation, and accurate service documentation.

What you'll do

• Support individuals in self-advocacy and informed choices
• assist with personal care, meals, mobility, laundry, and household tasks
• provide emotional support
• administer medications in accordance with IDHS Rule 116
• transport individuals in agency-owned vehicles
• document services and health concerns
• complete house safety checks
• report abuse and neglect
• attend required training and meetings.

Why this role

40 hours per week; overnight schedule is midnight–8 a.m. Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, based on preference at hire. Must work one shift during two of the three holiday seasons: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Paid training is provided.
