Staff Pharmacist

The Staff Pharmacist role is onsite in Spruce Pine, NC, with compensation of $55–$65 per hour. The pharmacist joins Mountain Community Health Partnership’s community pharmacy team. The pharmacist supports safe, effective pharmaceutical care by reviewing prescriptions, counseling patients, coordinating medication therapy with healthcare professionals, and helping manage pharmacy operations.

What you'll do

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions
• counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and adherence
• recommend over-the-counter medications and options for minor ailments
• support prescription processing and insurance adjudication
• maintain compliance and controlled-substance records
• manage medication inventory and expired products
• collaborate with healthcare professionals on medication therapy
• administer immunizations under applicable regulations and protocols
• guide pharmacy technicians and support staff
• assist the Pharmacy Manager and serve as acting pharmacist-in-charge when designated.

Why this role

Requires an unrestricted North Carolina pharmacist license and an accredited pharmacist immunization certification; a PharmD is preferred. Retail or community pharmacy experience and 340B program familiarity are preferred.
