Water Mitigation Technician

Job overview

The Water Mitigation Technician role is onsite in Athens, GA, with compensation of $18–$24 per hour. The client is described as a national leader in disaster recovery and property restoration, working to restore peace of mind for property owners. The technician assesses and mitigates water damage in residential and commercial properties by extracting water, drying and restoring structures, and helping ensure work meets industry standards. The role supports restoration projects through equipment operation, moisture monitoring, documentation, safety practices, and careful handling of customer belongings.

What you'll do

• Respond to emergency water damage calls
• follow team-leader and supervisor direction
• follow safety procedures
• inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment
• operate water extraction tools under supervision
• help establish containment zones
• apply disinfectants and remove debris safely
• assist with moisture detection and drying-system installation and monitoring
• document job activities, time, and equipment use
• attend required training and meet IICRC standards.

Why this role

IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification and restoration/mitigation experience are required; additional IICRC certifications and OSHA 10 or 30 are preferred or a plus.
