The Fire Inspector — Existing Facility Fire and Life Safety Evaluation role is hybrid, with on-site and virtual work, principally supporting North Charleston, SC, and also referencing Vandenberg Space Force Base near Lompoc, CA, and other CONUS locations. The role exists to help assess existing facility fire and life safety conditions, document deficiencies, and support follow-up evaluations. Its observations and reporting contribute to risk awareness, regulatory compliance, and prioritized corrective actions for Navy facilities.

What you'll do

• When tasked with existing-facility work, collect observations on life safety and fire protection conditions
• compare observed conditions with approved criteria
• document evidence and deficiencies and report them to the lead engineer
• support follow-up evaluations
• coordinate safely with facility personnel. Quantitative testing is only performed if separately defined and authorized.
