Adjunct Teacher

The Adjunct Teacher works onsite in New York, NY, facilitating one to two program cycles per year. Compensation is $8,000–$9,000 per cycle. Exalt’s program supports court-involved youth ages 15–19 with education, internships, and career development. The teacher leads a pre-internship preparation course that builds critical thinking, communication, creative problem-solving, and resource-management skills. The role adapts instruction to students’ needs and supports their educational, employability, and justice-system-avoidance goals.

What you'll do

• Teach and manage assigned class cycles
• adapt instruction to students’ learning styles, strengths, and challenges
• conduct participant outreach and support students at risk of leaving the program
• record attendance, assessments, and progress notes in Salesforce
• coordinate with program staff
• support educational and employability goals
• prepare court letters and share attendance information with courts as needed.
