Manual Bridge Mill Machinist

The Manual Bridge Mill Machinist role is onsite in Chicago, IL. Compensation is $30–$33 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The role produces custom components, weldments, and large castings to tight tolerances. The machinist sets up and operates manual bridge mills, inspects work, and maintains equipment and fixtures. Accurate machining and inspection support the quality of the finished parts, including low-volume custom builds.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate manual bridge mills using complex blueprints and GD&T specifications
• mill and bore large workpieces to tight tolerances
• inspect work with precision measuring tools
• adjust speeds and feeds
• design and build custom fixtures
• use overhead cranes and rigging to position components
• troubleshoot and maintain feed and spindle systems.
