The KQED Food & Check, Please! Bay Area Editorial & Audience Engagement Intern is a hybrid role based between KQED’s headquarters and remote work in San Francisco, CA. Compensation is $19.61 per hour, for 16 hours per week, from January 19 through June 25, 2027. KQED’s public media mission includes serving Northern California through community-supported media, dialogue, arts, and storytelling. The intern supports editorial packaging, promotional writing, audience engagement, research, and outreach for Check, Please! Bay Area and other KQED Food programming. The work helps connect audiences with food stories across social, email, web, radio, and broadcast platforms, with opportunities to contribute to a digital engagement project.

What you'll do

• Support promotional and editorial copy across social media, email, radio, episode and season descriptions, and marketing materials
• write and package social content and engage audiences
• collaborate on Instagram carousels and social packages
• help update and review webpages
• assist with audience outreach, restaurant research, and prospective guest review
• support taping and production needs as needed
• pitch and lead a digital engagement project.
