Material Handler

The Material Handler role is onsite in Columbia, IL, and pays $18 per hour or more depending on experience. SMS Staffing is hiring for a temp-to-hire position supporting production material handling. The handler safely stores, labels, loads, unloads, and transports materials; operates forklifts and other material-handling equipment; and maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories. The role supports production by moving materials as needed and following safety procedures and required documentation practices.

What you'll do

• Safely handle, store, label, load, and unload materials
• pull, transport, and put away production materials
• operate forklifts, reach trucks, power pallet jacks, drum dollies, and manual pallet jacks
• load empty or dirty drums onto trailers as requested
• conduct cycle counts and physical inventories
• complete paperwork
• report safety concerns and wear required PPE.
