What you'll do

• Review and process record plats
• check municipal atlas sheets
• establish city monument lines and benchmarks
• prepare right-of-way deeds and legal descriptions
• review building plans for permits
• index, file, maintain, and reproduce public records
• advise engineers, surveyors, and the public on surveying and mapping issues
• determine whether plans fit field conditions
• perform certified surveys as assigned
• and, depending on assignment, supervise crews and coordinate private surveying firms.
