Generator Technician

Job overview

The Generator Technician role is onsite in Harwich Port, Massachusetts, with pay of $35–$45 per hour based on experience. The technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs residential, commercial, and industrial standby power systems. The role helps ensure generator reliability and safety through preventive maintenance, testing, installation, repair, documentation, and customer communication. It also supports emergency service calls and storm-response or emergency-power deployments as needed.

What you'll do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair standby and portable generators
• perform preventive maintenance, load-bank testing, and inspections
• install generator systems and related wiring, transfer switches, and fuel connections
• conduct electrical checks
• troubleshoot control wiring and circuits
• test electrical components
• maintain service records and work orders
• respond to emergency calls, including scheduled after-hours or on-call rotation
• maintain parts, tools, vehicles, and equipment
• follow safety protocols
• communicate with dispatch, management, and customers.
