Early Childhood Teacher Assistant

The Early Childhood Teacher Assistant role is onsite in Harrisonburg, VA. Compensation is $15–$18 per hour. Spanish Lab and Learning Center’s assistant teachers support the preschool’s activities and services for children; fluency in Spanish is required. The assistant helps the Lead Teacher implement the daily program and supports children’s emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. The role also contributes to classroom supervision, meals and snacks, cleanliness, family communication, and a safe and supportive learning environment.

What you'll do

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily program
• support children’s development and individual learning needs
• supervise the classroom when the Lead Teacher is out
• assist with meals and snacks
• report equipment, maintenance, and supply needs
• help maintain a clean classroom
• support confidentiality and security of preschool information
• build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners
• maintain CPR and First Aid knowledge.
