Concrete Inspector

Job overview

The Concrete Inspector role is onsite in Dearborn Heights, MI, with compensation of $30–$40 per hour. KTA-Tator is an employee-owned materials engineering firm providing inspection, evaluation, and testing services, including concrete fabrication inspection. The technician performs quality assurance inspection and testing for precast concrete and reinforced concrete pipe fabrication. Accurate testing, reporting, and communication help clients and contractors assess construction conditions and maintain project quality.

What you'll do

• Perform quality assurance inspection of precast concrete and reinforced concrete pipe fabrication
• test fresh concrete for air content, slump, and temperature
• prepare reports and communicate construction conditions
• inspect prestressed concrete, particularly for transportation and bridge projects, when qualified
• maintain accurate paperwork and client relationships
• work outdoors and travel as needed.

Why this role

Applicants must have ACI Grade I concrete field testing certification and/or PCI Level II or III certification, plus a high school diploma or GED. Travel and irregular or extended hours, including night shifts and weekends, are required.
