The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor — Intensive Outpatient Program role is onsite in Lexington, VA. Pay is $21.02–$32.49 per hour. The counselor supports adults participating in Rockbridge Area Community Services’ Intensive Outpatient Program. Working under a Licensed Practitioner, the counselor provides individual and group substance-use counseling and contributes to person-centered treatment and recovery goals. The role coordinates with an interdisciplinary care team to support effective services and may help connect participants with community resources and continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Provide individual and group substance-use counseling to adults in the Intensive Outpatient Program under Licensed Practitioner supervision
• support development and implementation of person-centered treatment plans
• monitor and document progress toward recovery goals
• deliver evidence-based interventions
• collaborate with substance-use and mental-health case managers, counselors, psychiatric service providers, peer recovery specialists, and other care professionals
• care coordination and linkage to community resources may also be provided.

Why this role

Must possess or obtain Virginia CSAC certification within 18 months of hire and be eligible to accrue supervised experience hours upon hire. Bachelor’s degree in a listed related field and relevant clinical and substance-use experience are required.
