The Land Surveyor Technician role is hybrid, with one day per week in Haddonfield, NJ, and field work across New York and New Jersey. The technician supports field survey crews under the direction of the Party Chief, Survey Manager, and Professional Land Surveyor. The role assists with boundary, topographic, right-of-way, utility, and construction surveys while learning modern survey equipment and field data procedures.

What you'll do

  • Assist field crews with surveys across New York and New Jersey
  • support GPS/GNSS control surveys using RTK systems and topographic surveys using robotic total stations
  • assist with utility investigation and locating
  • hold rods, set stakes and markers, and maintain survey control points
  • record and organize field notes
  • care for and transport equipment
  • support construction staking
  • travel to job sites, with occasional overnight travel possible
  • learn data collection and quality-control procedures.

Why this role

Entry-level field role; prior surveying experience is helpful but not required, and training is offered. Occasional overnight travel may be required. A valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout New York and New Jersey are required.
