Star Swiss Turning Setup Machinist — Multi-Axis

The Star Swiss Turning Setup Machinist works onsite in Leland, NC. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour. The role turns customer specifications into finished parts for Global Contract Manufacturing. The machinist sets up and operates Star Swiss equipment, selects and qualifies tooling, monitors production quality, and adjusts setups to meet specifications. Accurate machining and efficient, safe production support customer part requirements.

What you'll do

• Review job travelers, manufacturing plans, and specifications
• call up Swiss programs
• select, install, and qualify tooling
• update fixturing and set offsets
• perform medium-complexity setups
• load material and run production
• monitor tool life and change tools as scheduled
• produce first articles and adjust tooling as needed
• inspect parts with precision instruments
• apply blueprint and GD&T requirements
• deburr work and maintain identification and counts
• track standard times
• follow work-order sequences
• support Lean, continuous improvement, and 5S
• follow EHS and PPE requirements.
