Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher is a full-time onsite role in the Brighton, Michigan area. Compensation is $50,000–$55,000 per year. Charyl Stockwell Academy District serves students from kindergarten through high school in a public school academy setting. The teacher provides instruction and support so students with special needs receive appropriate educational services and accommodations. The role develops and implements lesson plans and individualized education plans, assesses progress, delivers specialized instruction and interventions, and works with school staff and families to support student participation and learning.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans and individualized education plans
• assess student performance and progress
• deliver direct and specialized instruction in small groups and co-taught classrooms
• provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions
• collaborate with general education teachers and school staff
• maintain student records
• communicate with students, parents, and staff
• participate in school activities and meetings
• maintain a safe, positive environment.
