The Medical Assistant — Oncology role is onsite in Kennebunk, ME, with occasional coverage travel to other New England Cancer Specialists clinics and required weekend urgent care clinic participation in Westbrook, ME four to five times per year. The Certified Medical Assistant supports oncology and hematology care by preparing and rooming patients, collecting clinical information and specimens, assisting with procedures, and completing related documentation and administrative tasks as part of a clinical team.

What you'll do

  • Prepare examination rooms and supplies
  • greet and room patients
  • take and record vital signs
  • reconcile medications and allergies in the EMR
  • assist with symptom, pain, fatigue, and depression assessments
  • draw blood and complete lab work
  • assist providers with examinations and procedures as needed
  • perform EKGs as ordered
  • follow safety and infection-control standards
  • support scheduling, phone triage, records, prior authorizations, and other administrative tasks.

Why this role

Full-time, 32-hour position with a Monday–Friday work week and no late nights; weekend urgent care coverage is required four to five times per year.
