The Cafeteria Assistant role is onsite in Hampton, VA. Compensation is $16.32–$18.01 per hour. The position is part of Murfreesboro City Schools’ Department of Nutrition and works on days the cafeteria serves students, plus three staff training or setup/close-up days per year. The assistant supports cafeteria operations by helping prepare and serve food, storing food properly, cleaning, and following safety and sanitation procedures. The work helps the cafeteria operate efficiently for students and staff.

What you'll do

• Assist with food preparation, service, proper food storage, and cleaning
• follow safety, sanitation, and standard operating procedures
• assist in other cafeteria areas, including cashier duties
• understand and prepare recipes
• follow verbal and written instructions
• attend required School Nutrition certification and continuing education classes.
