After School Mentor

The After School Mentor role is onsite at IDEA School Project in Cincinnati, OH, with pay of $15 per hour. The role supports BLOC Ministries’ after-school programming and its mission of building relationships and sharing hope in underserved neighborhoods. The mentor provides consistent, caring support to a small group of students, helping create a safe and encouraging environment. Through activities, positive behavior modeling, and family connections, the role supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

What you'll do

• Safely escort an assigned group of students to and from programs
• build caring, Christ-centered relationships
• engage with students during program time
• coordinate with mentors and staff to support academic, social, and emotional needs
• use trauma-informed care, de-escalation, and conflict resolution
• encourage communication and self-expression
• model patience, empathy, and healthy boundaries
• interact with parents and caregivers at events.
